Volcano erupts and puts Chile on alert The Cabulco volcano is a thousand miles from Santiago, the capital. Population is concerned.



The Calbuco volcano, one of the most dangerous of Chile, erupted around 18h ​​this Wednesday (22). The Chilean government declared a state of emergency in the South, in a radius of 20 km. More than 70,000 people were evacuated from risk areas.
The volcano has not erupted since 1972 and even was under observation, so it took everyone by surprise. The Cabulco is a thousand kilometers from the capital Santiago, in the province of Llanquihue, lakes region, in southern Chile, between Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas.
The national mining and geology service of Chile immediately issued a red alert for the tourist region of lakes. Calbuco has more than two thousand feet and fury causes admiration and awe. The ash cloud caused by the volcano was mainly towards Argentina. Bariloche is the most affected city. Not ruled out the possibility that the ashes come to Buenos Aires.

More than five thousand people living in a radius of 20 km from the volcano had to leave their homes. A climber is gone. At least 10 flights to the lake region were canceled.

Chile has 91 active volcanoes and the Calbuco is considered the most dangerous third party.
